Explore God’s Amazing World!

God created a big, wide world, and you and your kids can explore it from home! So pack your bags and get ready for an atlas adventure! Get out your favorite world atlas and pick a new country to learn about. It could be a country you’ve visited or a place you hope to visit someday.

Take some time to learn about your chosen country by exploring your atlas. As you discover new things, ask your kids:

• How do you say “hello” in this country’s language?
• Where is this country on a world map?
• What is this country’s capital city?
• How long would it take for us to travel to this country?
• What kind of animals live in this country?
• If we were to travel to this country, what would you most want to see?

Want to take your adventure a step further? Listen to music from this country, cook a favorite food (find a recipe from every country here), or complete a coloring sheet based on the country’s flag (you can find coloring sheets for flags from all over the world here).

After you’re done exploring, make a commitment to pray for this country throughout the month. Here are some prayer prompts to help you get started:

• God, we pray that the people of __ are safe and healthy.
• God, would you help the people of __ know you better?
• God, give the leaders of __ wisdom as they lead and guide their country.
• God, would you fill __ with peace and unity that can only come from you? 
• God, help us to love the people of every nation.

As you explore God’s amazing world, remind your kids that He created every part of it. From the biggest continents to the smallest details, everything we discover points us back to our Creator.

Jeremiah 32:17 reminds us, “Oh, Lord God, you made the skies and the earth. You made them with your very great power. There is nothing too wonderful for you to do.” (ICB) As your family learns about new places, people, animals, and cultures, take time to wonder together about the God who made them all. His world is full of amazing things to discover!
